Fireworks Update

Suggestions were taken and it was decided at the August 2011 meeting that our fireworks show would be on the above date since the 4th falls on a Wed this year.  We felt that most families would try to make a long weekend out of it following the 4th rather then preceding it.  In the event of bad weather the rain date will be the following Saturday of July 14, 2012.  Please mail your donations to:

It was also suggested and accepted that the Fireworks be rotated around the lake to be fair to all cottages.  This will be done to the greatest extent possible assuming a location and landowner approval is obtained.  Since the two previous displays were on the south side and north side of the lake we will be working on a location at the west end.  We will set off a practice shot at 9:45 which will be about 30 minutes prior to the show so you can decide if your in the right spot or not.

COMMENTS

I just wanted to say that although the display itself was very good the location was probably the worst I have witnessed in the 6 years that I have lived on the lake.  I was very disappointed that we had to stand in the street, behind our house and we were still able to fully enjoy them because then our view was blocked by trees.  I hope that this years firework display is at the very least being considered to be set off at a different location.  Keep up the good work.

Best show I have seen at any lake for years......I think it was much better ......   lets get everyone to keep this going.


We thought they were the best fireworks we have ever seen on Posey Lake, and we have been here 40 years.  Keep up the great work.  The location was ok, but we had to get into our boat and go down to the that end of the lake to see them really well.  Since there wasn't much wind, it worked out fine, but on a windy night, that would be a problem for many viewers who have to do the same.

We loved the fireworks. We also absolutely loved the location of the fireworks being shot off from the area near the cove. It was great viewing for all. We would like to STRONGLY recommend that the fireworks continue to be displayed from the same location as this year. Thanks for a job well done!
